Vördad av kristna pilgrimer sedan 300-talet som platsen för Jesu korsfästning, begravning och uppståndelse, står Den heliga gravens kyrka, även känd som Uppståndelsekyrkan, vid slutet av Via Dolorosa, innanför gamla stans murar.

Kyrkan är hem till sex kyrkosamfund: romersk-katolska, grekisk-ortodoxa, armeniska apostoliska, syrisk-ortodoxa, koptiska ortodoxa och etiopiska ortodoxa. Tid och plats för varje samfunds gudstjänster är strikt reglerade i gemensamma områden.
