Mamshit

The nomadic Nabateans made Mamshit, a station along on the Incense Route from Arabia to market via the Mediterranean. Among the highlights at Mamshit, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is “the wealthy house,” a three-story guard tower with a fabulous view of the desert and two churches with mosaics. You’ll also see a typical Nabatean-style dwelling, including a stable for 16 horses. The market street is recreated on some holidays. There is an overnight campground at the park’s Nabatean Khan (caravansary).
